On 27th May, we held our inaugural trail ride, at Kelsall Hill
Equestrian Centre near Chester. The facilities there are really fantastic, with
7½ miles of scenic off-road riding, which follows well laid tracks
through woodland and across wide grassy fields. There is plenty of room for
those who want to have a canter and a variety of optional jumps. There is even
a water splash for those feeling brave (or hot!!) .
The weather was not on our side (bank holiday weekend,
therefore raining), but those who took part really enjoyed the ride and we all
decided that it was an outing to be repeated. At the start, a few of us were
given a guided tour of the trail in the comfort of a 4x4. This gave us a good
idea of what to expect and to see the marvellous set-up they have there.
On
finishing the ride we all enjoyed a tasty and very welcome barbeque, which
Lindsey had organised. The people at the centre kindly allowed us to set up
camp inside one of their large barns, where we could enjoy the food and listen
to a bit of music without being drowned!

one. *
